went out one day and performed over the martyrs of Uhud a prayer like the funeral prayer. He then turned toward the pulpit and said: “I shall go before you to the Pond, and I shall testify on your behalf. By Allah, I can see my Pond even now. I have been given the keys to the treasures of the earth—or the keys of the earth itself. And, by Allah, I do not fear that you will fall into polytheism after I am gone; rather, I fear that you will compete with one another over it.”
This is an authentic hadith with an elevated chain.
It was recorded by al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, and al-Nasa’i through multiple routes from Yazid (1).
