Siyar Aʿlām al-NubalāʾShams al‑Din al‑Dhahabi

He replied, “Had he performed a prayer there, you would now be praying just as you pray in the Sacred Mosque.” I then asked Hudhayfah, “Shall I tether the mount to the ring by which the prophets used to tie their animals?” He said, “Would he fear it might run away when Allah Himself had brought it to him?” It appears that Hudhayfah had not been informed that the Prophet prayed in the Farthest Mosque, nor that he tethered the Burāq to that ring.

Ibn ʿUyaynah narrated—from ʿAmr, from ʿIkrimah, from Ibn ʿAbbās—concerning the verse, “We did not make the vision We showed you except as a trial for mankind” (al-Isrāʾ 17:60): “It was a waking vision that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was shown on the night he was taken on the Night-Journey.” As for the words, “and the cursed tree in the Quran” (al-Isrāʾ 17:60), he said, “It is the tree of Zaqqūm.” Al-Bukhārī recorded this report.
