I remark: Ibn Zubriq was criticized by al-Nasāʾī, and Abū Ḥātim said, “He is a shaykh.”
Hammād ibn Salamah said: Abū Ḥamzah narrated to us, from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from Ibn Masʿūd, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The Burāq was brought to me, so I mounted it behind Gabriel. We set off; whenever we reached a mountain its hind-legs would rise, and whenever we descended its fore-legs would rise. We travelled across a vast and pleasant land until we came upon a man standing in prayer. He asked, ‘Who is this with you, O Gabriel?’ He replied, ‘Your brother Muḥammad.’ The man welcomed me, invoked blessing, and said, ‘Ask ease for your community.’ We then moved on; he mentioned that we passed by Moses and Jesus. He went on: ‘We then came upon some lamps, and I asked, “What is this?” He said, “This is the tree of your father Abraham. Would you like to draw near it?” I said, “Yes.” We drew near it, and he welcomed me. We continued until we reached Bayt al-Maqdis. The prophets whom Allah named—and those He did not name—were assembled for me, and I led them in prayer, except for these three: Moses, Jesus, and Abraham. I tethered the animal to the ring by which the prophets used to tether their mounts, then I entered the mosque. The prophets whom Allah named and those He did not were brought close to me, and I led them in prayer.”
This is a singular report, and Abū Ḥamzah—Maymūn—is weak.
Yūnus narrated from al-Zuhrī, from Ibn al-Musayyib, from Abū Hurayrah, who said: On the night the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was taken on the Night Journey, two cups were brought to him at Iliyāʾ (Jerusalem)—one of wine and the other of milk. He looked at them and chose the milk. Gabriel said to him, “Praise be to Allah who guided you to the fiṭrah; had you chosen the wine, your nation would have gone astray.” Agreed upon.
I read to Judge Sulaymān ibn Ḥamzah. Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wāḥid, the ḥāfiẓ, informed you, saying: al-Faḍl ibn al-Ḥusayn narrated to us; ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥasan al-Mawāzinī narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us; Yūsuf narrated
