Shuʿbah—through Abū Yaʿfūr—from Ibn Abī Awfā—reported:
“We marched with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on seven campaigns during which we ate locusts.” (1)
Al-Muḥāribī—through Ibn Abī Khālid—said:
“I noticed a scar on the arm of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Awfā and asked, ‘What is this mark?’ He replied, ‘I received it on the Day of Ḥunayn.’” (2)
ʿAbd Allāh died in 86 AH. Others say he passed away in 88 AH, having nearly reached one hundred years of age—may Allah be pleased with him.
77 – ʿAbd Allāh ibn Buṣr ibn Abī Buṣr, Abū Safwān al-Māzinī * (ʿ)
A Companion famed for his longevity, known as “the blessing of Syria;” Abū Safwān al-Māzinī, resident of Ḥimṣ.

And the phrase “upon the family of Abu Awfa” actually includes Abu Awfa himself, for the Arabic word aal (family) can designate the person concerned, just as the Prophet said concerning Abu Musa: “He has been given one of the flutes of the family of David.”

شُعْبَةُ: عَنْ أَبِي يَعْفُوْرَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى، قَالَ:
غَزَوْنَا مَعَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ ﷺ سَبْعَ غَزَوَاتٍ نَأْكُلُ الجَرَادَ (١) .
المُحَارِبِيُّ: عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، قَالَ:
رَأَيْتُ بِذِرَاعِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى ضَرْبَةً، فَقُلْتُ: مَا هَذِهِ الضَّرْبَةُ؟
قَالَ: ضُرِبْتُهَا يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ (٢) .
تُوُفِّيَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: سَنَةَ سِتٍّ وَثَمَانِيْنَ.
وَقِيْلَ: بَلْ تُوُفِّيَ سَنَةَ ثَمَانٍ وَثَمَانِيْنَ، وَقَدْ قَارَبَ مِائَةَ سَنَةٍ ﵁.
٧٧ - عَبْدُ اللهِ بنُ بُسْرِ بنِ أَبِي بُسْرٍ أَبُو صَفْوَانَ المَازِنِيُّ * (ع)
الصَّحَابِيُّ، المُعَمَّرُ، بَرَكَةُ الشَّامِ، أَبُو صَفْوَانَ المَازِنِيُّ، نَزِيْلُ حِمْصَ.
= بصدقته، وأبو داود (١٥٩٠) ، والنسائي ٥ / ٣١، وأحمد ٤ / ٣٥٤ و٣٨١.
وقوله " على آل أبي أوفى " يريد أبا أوفى نفسه، لان الآل يطلق على ذات الشئ، كقوله ﷺ في قصة أبي موسى: " لقد أوتي مزمارا من مزامير آل داود ".
