Umm Bakr reported: Al-Miswar was born in Mecca two years after the Hijrah and died there at the new moon of Rabīʿ al-Ākhir in the year 64 AH. Several authorities date his death likewise, but al-Madāʾinī erred when he claimed that he died in 73 AH, struck by a stone from a catapult.
