Al-Tirmidhī also records—through the route of ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī, from his father, from his grandfather—that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took al-Ḥasan and al-Ḥusayn and said, “Whoever loves these two, their father, and their mother will be with me in my station on the Day of Resurrection.” (1)
Its isnād is weak and the text is objectionable.
In the Musnad, Ghundar narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us, from ʿAmr ibn Murrah, from ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Ḥārith, from Zuhayr ibn al-Aqmar, who said: While al-Ḥasan was preaching after ʿAlī had been killed, a tall, dark-complexioned man from the tribe of Azd stood up and said, “I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seat him in his lap and say, ‘Whoever loves me, let him love him; and let the one who is present convey it to the one who is absent.’ Were it not for the charge of the Messenger of Allah, I would not have related this to you.” (2)
ʿAlī ibn Ṣāliḥ and Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh (3) transmit—from ʿĀṣim, from Zirr, from ʿAbd Allah—that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “These two are my sons; whoever loves them has loved me.”
A group of narrators relate—from Shahr ibn Ḥawshab, from Umm Salama—that the Prophet ﷺ wrapped al-Ḥasan, al-Ḥusayn, and Fāṭimah in a cloak and then prayed, “O Allah, these are the people of my household and my chosen ones. O Allah, remove impurity from them and purify them completely.” (4)
