Ibn ʿAjlān relates, through ʿUthmān ibn ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Abī Rāfiʿ, who said:
“I saw Abū Saʿīd trimming his moustache so closely that it looked shaved, just like the work of a barber.” ⦗1⦘
Baqī ibn Makhlad, in his Major Musnad, transmitted one thousand one hundred and seventy hadiths from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, counting the repetitions.

Ismāʿīl al-Qāḍī said: “I heard him say that he died in 63 AH.”
Al-Bukhārī reported that ʿAlī said: “He died one year after the event of al-Ḥarrah.”
