She transmitted only a small number of hadiths from the Prophet ﷺ. Those who narrated from her include her daughter Karīmah, Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib, ʿUrwah ibn al-Zubayr, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Aʿraj, and Anas ibn Mālik. Among the earlier transmitters who related from her were Ibn ʿAbbās and Jābir.
Her son ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Miqdād was killed at the Battle of the Camel while fighting on the side of the Mother of the Believers ʿĀʾishah (1).
Maʿmar reported—from al-Zuhrī, from ʿUrwah, from ʿĀʾishah—who said:
“The Prophet ﷺ visited Ḍubāʿah bint al-Zubayr. She said, ‘I wish to perform the pilgrimage, but I am unwell.’ The Prophet ﷺ said, ‘Perform the pilgrimage, and stipulate that my release from consecration is wherever You detain me (2).’”
From what I can ascertain, Ḍubāʿah lived on until after the year 40 AH.
