ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn al-Mukhtār narrated, from Yaḥyā ibn Abī Isḥāq:
Anas told me, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Abū Ṭalḥah, and I were travelling together while Safiyyah was riding pillion behind him. The camel stumbled and both he and she were thrown to the ground. Abū Ṭalḥah immediately leapt down from his own mount, came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, ‘O Prophet of Allah, have you been hurt at all?’ He replied, ‘No; see to the woman.’ So Abū Ṭalḥah covered his own face with his cloak, went over to her, cast the cloak upon her, and she stood up. He then settled her on his riding beast; she mounted, and the Prophet ﷺ mounted as well. (1)
Ibn Jurayj narrated, from Ziyād ibn Ismāʿīl, from Sulaymān ibn ʿAtīq, from Jābir:
“When Safiyyah was brought into the Prophet’s pavilion, we were present, and he said, ‘Leave—this is your mother.’ That evening we came back, thinking some share would be distributed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out with about one and a half mudd of ʿAjwa dates in the edge of his cloak and said, ‘Eat from the wedding feast of your mother.’ (2)
Ziyād is weak.
Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad al-Azraqī related to us, saying: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī al-Rijāl narrated on the authority of Ibn ʿUmar:
“When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ unveiled Safiyyah, he saw ʿĀʾishah veiled among the women. He recognized her, caught up with her, took hold of her garment and said, ‘O Shuqayrāʾ, how…’”
