This ḥadīth was also transmitted by Abū Isḥāq al-Fazārī (1) from Hishām, who stated: from his father and from Abū Salamah, from her.
Abū Dāwūd (2) recorded it in exactly this form.
Abū Saʿd al-Baqqāl (3), quoting ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Aswad from his father, reported:
ʿĀʾishah said, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ married me after Gabriel brought him a likeness of me, while I was still a young girl wearing a ḥawf. When he married me, Allah cast modesty over me even though I was so small.”
ḥawf: straps or belts worn round the waist.
Misʿar narrated—from al-Miqdām ibn Shurayḥ, from his father, from ʿĀʾishah—that she said:
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would hand me a bone; I would gnaw the meat from it, then he would take it, turn it around, and place his mouth on the very spot where mine had been.”
Shuʿbah and a number of others related the report from al-Miqdām, and Muslim (4) included it in his Ṣaḥīḥ.
