Another virtue:
Shuʿayb narrated—from al-Zuhrī, who said: Abū Salamah related to me that ʿĀʾishah said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “O ʿĀʾishah, this is Gabriel; he is conveying salutations of peace to you.” She replied, “And upon him be peace and the mercy of Allah. You see what we do not see, O Messenger of Allah.” (1)
Zakariyyā ibn Abī Zāʾidah narrated—from ʿĀmir, from Abū Salamah—that ʿĀʾishah told him:
The Prophet ﷺ said to her, “Gabriel conveys greetings of peace to you.” She responded, “And upon him be peace and the mercy of Allah.” (1)
Al-Nasāʾī also recorded this through the chain of Maʿmar, from al-Zuhrī, from ʿUrwah, from ʿĀʾishah, in wording similar to the first report. (2)
In the Musnad of Aḥmad, from Sufyān, from Mujālid, from al-Shaʿbī, from Abū Salamah, from ʿĀʾishah—she said:
“I saw you, O Messenger of Allah, standing and speaking with Dihyah al-Kalbī.” He asked, “Did you actually see him?” I answered, “Yes.” He said, “That was Gabriel, and he is conveying salutations of peace to you.” I said, “And upon him be peace and the mercy of Allah. May Allah reward him—as a visitor and a guest—for what an excellent companion and an excellent guest he is.” (3)
He explained that al-dakhīl means “guest.”
Mujālid is not strong.
