Shuʿbah narrated—from ʿAmr ibn Murrah, from Murrah, from Abū Mūsā—that the Prophet ﷺ said, “Many men have attained perfection, but among women none attained perfection except Mary the daughter of ʿImrān and Āsiyah, the wife of Pharaoh; and the excellence of ʿĀʾishah over women is like the excellence of tharīd (bread-and-meat stew) over every other dish.” (1)
Another virtue:
Al-Ḥākim relates in his Mustadrak, through the chain of Yūsuf ibn al-Mājishūn, who said:
My father narrated to me, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Kaʿb ibn Mālik, from ʿĀʾishah, who said:
I asked, “O Messenger of Allah, which of your wives will be in Paradise?” (2)
He replied, “Indeed, you are among them.”
She added, “I assumed that was because he had married no other virgin besides me.” (3)
Mūsā—who is al-Juhanī—narrated from Abū Bakr ibn Ḥafṣ, from ʿĀʾishah:
She came along with her parents, and they said, “We would like you to supplicate for ʿĀʾishah while we can hear it.”
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, “O Allah, forgive ʿĀʾishah bint Abī Bakr al-Ṣiddīq with a forgiveness that is binding, outward and inward.”
Her parents were astonished, so he said, “Are you surprised? This is my supplication for anyone who bears witness that there is no deity but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah.”
Al-Ḥākim also produced this report in his Mustadrak through the chain of Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah from Mūsā. It is extremely singular. (4)
