Anas, in a report traced back to the Prophet ﷺ, said: “Four women are sufficient for you among all the women of the worlds.” (1)
Thābit likewise narrated from Anas: “The best women of all the worlds are Mary, Āsiyah, Khadījah bint Khuwaylid, and Fāṭimah.” (2)
Al-Darāwardī reported from Ibrāhīm ibn ʿUqbah, from Kurayb, from Ibn ʿAbbās that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The foremost ladies of the people of Paradise, after Mary, are Fāṭimah, Khadījah, and Pharaoh’s wife, Āsiyah.” (3)
Mujālid narrated from al-Shaʿbī, from Masrūq, from ʿĀʾishah, who said:
“When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned Khadījah, I spoke about her and said, ‘That old woman—such-and-such—Allah has replaced her for you with someone better.’ He replied, ‘Allah has not given me anyone better than her. She believed in me when people disbelieved, she supported me with her wealth when people withheld theirs, and Allah granted me children through her while He deprived me of children by any other wife.’ I said, ‘By Allah, I will never again reproach you concerning her.’” (4)
ʿUrwah also narrated from ʿĀʾishah that she said: “Khadījah passed away before the prayer was made obligatory.”
Al-Wāqidī said: “She died in Ramaḍān and was buried in al-Ḥujūn.”
Qatādah said: “She died three years before the Hijrah.”
ʿUrwah stated the same.
