of ʿAbd Allah will weigh on the Balance on the Day of Resurrection more than Mount Uhud.’ (1)
Jarir also transmitted the report from Mughirah.
Hammad ibn Salamah narrated it through ʿAsim, from Zir, from ʿAbd Allah, with similar wording.
Abu ʿAttab al-Dallal transmitted it through Shuʿbah, from Muʿawiyah ibn Qurrah ibn Iyas al-Muzani, from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ, to the same effect. (2)
Al-Thawri related—from ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr, from a freedman of Ribʿi, from Ribʿi, from Hudhayfah—that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Follow the two who will succeed me—Abu Bakr and ʿUmar; seek guidance in the example of ʿAmmar; and hold fast to the covenant of Ibn Umm ʿAbd.’ (3)
A number of transmitters have reported it from him in this manner.
Asbat narrated it from al-Thawri but omitted the freedman of Ribʿi.
Misʿar narrated it through ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr, from Ribʿi.
Salim al-Muradi narrated it through ʿAmr ibn Harim, (4) from Ribʿi, from Hudhayfah.
Wakiʿ transmitted it from Salim al-Muradi, saying that it came through ʿAmr ibn Murrah; the first version (5) is the more accurate.
