11 – ʿAbd Allah ibn Maẓʿūn al-Jumaḥī, Abū Muḥammad *
He was one of the earliest converts. He and his brothers—ʿUthmān, Qudāmah—and his nephew al-Sāʾib all fought at Badr. ʿAbd Allah also took part in the second migration to Abyssinia. (1)
Ibn Saʿd remarks: He was present at Badr, Uḥud, and the Confederates, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ established a bond of brotherhood between him and Sahl ibn ʿUbayd ibn al-Muʿallā al-Anṣārī.
He adds: ʿAbd Allah died during the caliphate of ʿUthmān in 30 AH, at the age of sixty. (2)
12 – al-Sāʾib ibn ʿUthmān ibn Maẓʿūn al-Jumaḥī **
His mother was Khawlah bint Ḥakīm al-Sulamiyyah, whose own mother was Ḍaʿīfah bint al-ʿĀṣ ibn Umayyah ibn ʿAbd Shams.
He migrated to Abyssinia and was counted among the noted archers. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ paired him in brotherhood with Ḥārithah ibn Surāqah al-Anṣārī—martyred at Badr—who attained al-Firdaws, the highest garden of Paradise. (3)
