Ibrāhīm al-Ḥarbī; it comprises 680 pages and the copy dates back to the ninth century AH.
2 – Volume Fifteen opens with the biography of Zuhayr ibn Ḥasan al-Sarkhasī and ends with the biography of Riḍwān ibn the Sultan Tutush. It contains 255 folios and was copied in the ninth century AH.
From the microfilm preserved at the Arab Scientific Academy in Damascus we have two volumes from a copy divided into twenty parts:
1 – Volume Five begins with the biography of Abū Burda al-Ashʿarī and concludes with the biography of Ḥammād ibn Salama. We found nothing in it to indicate the source from which it was taken, and it bears no copying date.
2 – Volume Seventeen starts with the biography of Abū al-Barakāt the Philosopher and ends with the biography of Ibn Ḥamawiya. At its close appears the note: “The seventeenth volume of Siyar Aʿlām al-Nubalāʾ is now complete; it is followed by the eighteenth volume of the twenty-part division. Praise be to Allah at the beginning and the end, outwardly and inwardly.”
