He said, “During those days in which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was fighting, no one remained with him except Talhah and Saʿd,” according to their report (1).
It was recorded by the two Shaykhs, through al-Muqaddamī.
With the same chain down to al-Tamīmī: Abu Kurayb narrated to us; Yūnus ibn Bukayr narrated to us; from Ṭalḥah ibn Yaḥyā; from Mūsā and ʿĪsā, the two sons of Talhah; from their father:
The Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to a Bedouin who had come asking him about “the one who has fulfilled his vow,” “Who is he?”
Out of reverence and awe, they themselves did not dare to question him ﷺ.
So the Bedouin asked him, but he turned away. He asked again, and he turned away. At that moment I glanced in through the door of the mosque while wearing green clothes.
When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw me he said, “Where is the one who was asking about the one who has fulfilled his vow?”
The Bedouin replied, “I am.”
He said, “This man is among those who have fulfilled their vow.” (2)
Al-Tayālisī also records it in his Musnad, from the narration of Muʿāwiyah, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, “Talhah is among those who have fulfilled their vow.” (3)
