Muḥammad al-Dimyāṭī; Raḍī al-Dīn, Imām of the Maqām; and his brother, Ṣafī al-Dīn.
He passed away in mid-Rajab, 645 AH.
180 – Ṣafiyya bint al-ʿAdl ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn ʿAlī ibn al-Khaḍir al-Asadiyya
A venerable centenarian, Umm Ḥamza al-Asadiyya, of the Zubayrite clan; originally Damascene and later resident in Ḥamā; sister of the scholar Lady Karīma.
Her father was remiss and never had her audition anything, but her uncle, the ḥāfiẓ ʿUmar ibn ʿAlī, obtained licences for her. She thus narrated from Masʿūd al-Thaqafī, Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Rustamī, al-Qāsim ibn al-Faḍl al-Ṣaydalanī, Rajāʾ ibn Ḥāmid, ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Tāj al-Qurrāʾ, and others.
She lived to a great age; people sought her out, and she transmitted a number of traditions.
Among those who reported from her were Majd al-Dīn ibn al-Ḥulwāniyya, al-Dimyāṭī, Taqī al-Dīn ibn Muzayz, al-Amīn Muḥammad ibn al-Naḥḥās, Abū Bakr al-Dishtī, Abū al-ʿAbbās ibn al-Ẓāhirī, and a group besides them.
Also present at her sessions were her grandson ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Shāhid and al-Tāj Aḥmad ibn Muzayz.
Taqī ibn al-Anmāṭī had heard from her in earlier years.
Al-Dimyāṭī said: “I attended her funeral in Ḥamā on the fifth of Rajab, 646 AH.”
I say: she was close to ninety years old.
In that same year there also died al-Ṣāliḥ Aḥmad ibn Salāma al-Najjār, the traditionist of Ḥarrān, and Abū al-Nuʿmān
