Then he returned to Baghdad (1) and died there in Jumada II (2) of 612 AH, at a very advanced age (3).
37 – Ibn Mujallī, ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Ramlī
The Imām, judge, and trusted confidant of the ruler, Abū Muḥammad ʿAbd Allāh, son of the judge and Imām Abū al-Ḥasan Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Mujallī ibn Ḥusayn al-Ramlī—later known as al-Miṣrī—was a Shāfiʿī and a preacher.
He heard ḥadīth from Ibn Rifāʿah (4) and Abū al-Futūḥ al-Khaṭīb (5), and he served as deputy judge (6).
He passed away in Dhū al-Ḥijjah, 613 AH, at a little over seventy years of age (7).
Among those who narrated from him were al-Barzalī, al-Mundhirī, Sharaf al-Dīn ʿUmar ibn Ṣāliḥ al-Subkī, Muḥammad ibn al-Khaymī the poet, and others.

ثُمَّ عَادَ إِلَى بَغْدَادَ (١) ، وَبِهَا مَاتَ، فِي جُمَادَى الآخِرَةِ (٢) ، سَنَةَ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ وَسِتِّ مائَةٍ، عَنْ سِنٍّ عَالِيَةٍ (٣) .

الإِمَامُ، القَاضِي، ثِقَةُ الملكِ، أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ ابْنُ القَاضِي الإِمَامِ أَبِي الحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدِ بنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بنِ مُجَلِّي بنِ حُسَيْنٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ، ثُمَّ المِصْرِيُّ، الشَّافِعِيُّ، الخَطِيْبُ.
سَمِعَ: ابْنَ رِفَاعَةَ (٤) ، وَأَبَا الفُتُوْحِ الخَطِيْبَ (٥) ، وَنَاب فِي القَضَاءِ (٦) .
مَاتَ: فِي ذِي الحِجَّةِ، سَنَةَ ثَلاَثَ عَشْرَةَ وَسِتِّ مائَةٍ، عَنْ بِضْعٍ وَسَبْعِيْنَ سَنَةً (٧) .
رَوَى عَنْهُ: البِرْزَالِيُّ، وَالمُنْذِرِيُّ، وَشَرَفُ الدِّيْنِ عُمَرُ بنُ صَالِحٍ السُّبْكِيُّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ ابْن الخِيَمِيّ الشَّاعِرُ، وَآخَرُوْنَ.

ولفظ " المجلي " قيده المنذري في التكملة، فقال: بضم الميم وفتح الجيم وتشديد اللام وكسرها.
