al-Lakhmī, from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah, from his father, from ʿĀʾishah, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever acts as an intermediary for his Muslim brother with someone in authority—so as to convey a charitable act or to ease a difficulty—Allah will assist him in crossing the ṣirāṭ (the Bridge) on the Day when feet will falter (1).”
Abū al-Faḍl Aḥmad ibn Hibat Allah informed us through my own reading; Zayn al-Umanaʾ al-Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad informed us; my uncle, the ḥāfiẓ Abū al-Qāsim ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥasan, informed us; Abū al-Qāsim al-Nasīb informed us; Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Tamīmī informed us; Yūsuf ibn al-Qāsim al-Mayanajī informed us; Aḥmad ibn ʿAlī al-Tamīmī informed us; Aḥmad ibn Ḥātim al-Ṭawīl narrated to us; Mālik narrated to us, from Ibn Shihāb, from ʿUrwah, from ʿĀʾishah:
Whenever the Prophet ﷺ was unwell, he would recite the muʿawwidhāt (the protective chapters) over himself and blow, or someone would blow, upon him (2).
Agreed upon (3).
As for Aḥmad ibn Ḥātim ibn Makhshī (4), who narrates from Mālik, he was a Basran shaykh, whereas al-Ṭawīl was from Baghdad.
