Siyar Aʿlām al-NubalāʾShams al‑Din al‑Dhahabi

Layla, on the authority of Suhayb:
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the verse, “For those who have done good is the best reward and even more” (Yunus 26). He said:
“When the people of Paradise have entered Paradise and the people of the Fire have entered the Fire, a herald will call out: ‘O people of Paradise! You have a promise with Allah that He wishes to fulfil for you.’
They will reply, ‘Has He not brightened our faces, weighted our scales heavily, admitted us to Paradise, and delivered us from the Fire?’
Then the veil will be lifted and they will gaze upon Him. By Allah, Allah will not grant them anything dearer to them than that, nor anything that will bring greater delight to their eyes.” (1)
