Among those who related traditions from him were al-Samʿānī, Muḥammad ibn Faḍl Allāh al-Sālārī, al-Muʾayyad ibn Muḥammad al-Ṭūsī, and others.
He also granted an authorization (ijāza) to ʿAbd al-Raḥīm ibn al-Samʿānī.
He came from a household renowned for both learning and devotion.
He died in Jumada I, 540 AH.
His father—the upright, eminent Abū al-Ḥasan ʿAbd Allāh(1)—passed away sometime after 460 AH.
The father narrated from Abū Nuʿaym ʿAbd al-Malik al-Isfarāyinī and a group of others, and Zāhir al-Shahhāmī cites him in his “Dictionary of Teachers.”
