(3) In her time she alone transmitted al-Tabarani’s al-Muʿjam al-Kabir and al-Muʿjam al-Saghir from Ibn Ridhah. The Andalusian scholar al-Wadiʿashi later auditioned al-Muʿjam al-Saghir with Shaykh Zayn al-Din Abu Bakr ibn Yusuf al-Mizzi, the reading being conducted by the hadith master al-Dhahabi. Al-Wadiʿashi narrated it on the authority of the two shaykhs Muhammad ibn Ismail ibn Ahmad al-Maqdisi and Abu Ishaq Ibrahim ibn Khalil al-Adami, both of whom had heard it from Abu al-Faraj Yahya ibn Mahmud ibn Saʿd al-Thaqafi. We were informed of this chain by Abu ʿAdnan Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn al-Mutahhar and Umm Ibrahim Fatimah bint ʿAbd Allah al-Juzdaniyya, who said: “Muhammad ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Ridhah al-Dabbi transmitted it to us from its author, al-Tabarani.” For the audition certificates, see volume 1 of al-Muʿjam al-Kabir, Zahiriyya manuscript and Ahmed III manuscript.
