Al-Musallam ibn ʿAllān informed us; al-Kindī informed us; al-Qazzāz informed us; Abū Bakr al-Khaṭīb informed us; Sulaymān ibn Ibrāhīm Abū Masʿūd informed us; Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn al-Qaṭṭān narrated to us; Ibrāhīm ibn al-Ḥārith narrated to us; Yaḥyā ibn Abī Bukayr narrated to us; Zuhayr narrated to us; Abū Isḥāq narrated to us—on the authority of ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith, the Prophet’s in-law—who said:
“By Allah, at the moment of his death the Messenger of Allah ﷺ left neither a dinar nor a dirham, neither a male slave nor a female slave, nor anything else except his white mule, his weapons, and a tract of land that he had made a charitable endowment.”
We were also given this report with a higher chain: Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan the jurist informed us; Karīmah al-Qurashiyyah related it to us, from Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan al-Ṣaydalanī; Sulaymān transmitted the same report to us.
Al-Ṣaydalanī lived on for one hundred and five years after al-Khaṭīb.
Al-Bukhārī (1) recorded the ḥadith through Ibrāhīm, and in this we have matched him.
Nevertheless, caution is warranted regarding Yaḥyā’s remarks, for there were hostilities and resentments between the family of Mandah and the circle of Abū Nuʿaym (2).
