Khārijah, the mother of Umm Kulthūm; ʿAbd al-Raḥmān; Muḥammad; ʿĀʾishah; Asmāʾ; and Umm Kulthūm.
Some also say that the Jews slipped poison to him in a dish of arzah (a particular food), and he died a year later at the age of sixty-three—may Allah be pleased with him.

His Governors and Administrators:
Mūsā ibn Anas ibn Mālik related that Abū Bakr appointed his father, Anas, as governor of Bahrain.
Khalīfah reported: Abū Bakr sent Ziyād ibn Labīd to Yemen—or, according to another account, al-Muhājir ibn Abī Umayyah—and made the other of the two governor of Kadāʾm. He also confirmed ʿUthmān ibn Abī al-ʿĀṣ over al-Ṭāʾif. When he went on ḥajj he left Qatādah ibn al-Nuʿmān in charge of Madinah.
His secretary was ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān, and he was accompanied on that pilgrimage by his freedman Sidīd. Some say that Zayd ibn Thābit served as his scribe as well. His vizier was ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb, who also presided over judicial matters, and his muʾadhdhin was Saʿd al-Quraz, the freedman of ʿAmmār ibn Yāsir.

The Caliphate of al-Ṣiddīq—may Allah be pleased with him:
Hishām ibn ʿUrwah narrated from his father, from ʿĀʾishah, that the Prophet ﷺ passed away while Abū Bakr was at al-Sunḥ. ʿUmar declared, “By Allah, the Messenger of Allah has not died!” ʿUmar went on to say:
