206 – Ḥaydara ibn ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad, Abū al-Munajjā al-Qaḥṭānī* (previously mentioned)
The erudite scholar, Abū al-Munajjā al-Qaḥṭānī, the Antiochene, renowned for dream interpretation.
He narrated from: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Naṣr, al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī al-Kafarṭābī, and a number of others.
Narrated from him: Hibat Allāh ibn al-Akfānī, Jamāl al-Islām, and the judge Yaḥyā ibn ʿAlī al-Qurashī.
Ibn Mākūlā (1) said, “I wrote from him in Damascus.”
He was a devout man, and he used to claim that, in the science of dream interpretation, he had memorised ten thousand three hundred and some seventy folios (2).
I say: that amount would come to roughly forty volumes, and Allah knows best whether the claim is accurate.
