from Ibn Sīrīn: that Anas ibn Mālik, whenever he entered the latrine, would have ushnān (a cleansing powder) and water set out for him. This is an authentic, mawqūf report.

And in that same year there also died: Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad ibn ʿAlī al-Simsār (1); Abū al-Faḍl al-Muṭahhir ibn ʿAbd al-Wāḥid al-Buzānī (2); Abū Aḥmad Jaʿfar ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad al-Ṭulayṭulī, at a little over eighty years of age; Sahl ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAlī al-Ghāzī; and—though the year is disputed—the ḥāfiẓ and emir Abū Naṣr ibn Mākūlā (3).

227 – Kulār ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAfīf al-Būshanjī *

The shaykh, musnid, righteous man, and last of the elders: Abū Manṣūr ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Muḥammad (4) ibn ʿAfīf al-Būshanjī al-Harawī, known as Kulār and as Kulārī.

He heard ḥadith from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Shurayḥ, and he and Bībā (5) were the last of that shaykh’s pupils to die.

Among those who transmitted from him were Ibn Ṭāhir, Wajīh al-Shahhāmī, Zuhayr ibn ʿAlī al-Sarkhasī, al-Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad al-Sanjabastī, Fuḍayl ibn Ismāʿīl, Abū al-Waqt al-Sijzī, ʿAbd al-Jalīl ibn Abī Saʿd, Muḥammad ibn Ismāʿīl al-Fuḍaylī, Manṣūr ibn ʿAlī al-Ḥujarī, and others.

He has been graded trustworthy, and a fascicle transmitted through his chain has reached me.
