al-ʿUkbarī, known as “the boon-companion” (1); Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn Hibat Allāh ibn al-Lālkāʾī (2); Hayyāj ibn ʿUbayd al-Ḥiṭṭīnī, the ascetic (3); and Yaḥyā ibn Muḥammad al-Aqsāsī, the ʿAlid from Kūfah (4).
ʿAbd al-Ḥāfiẓ of Nablus informed us; Mūsā ibn ʿAbd al-Qādir and Ḥusayn ibn al-Mubārak both said:
“ʿAbd al-Awwal informed us; Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz informed us; ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Aḥmad informed us; ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad narrated to us; Abū al-Jahm narrated to us; Sawwār ibn Muṣʿab told me, from Muṭarrif, from Abū al-Jahm, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, ‘If you may lawfully eat an animal’s flesh, then there is no objection to its urine.’ ”
This ḥadith is mursal and weak (5).
184 – Ibn al-Muḥibb, al-Faḍl ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Naysābūrī
The shaykh, the imām, the preacher, the ḥadith transmitter, Abū al-Qāsim al-Faḍl ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Muḥibb al-Naysābūrī.

(4) The nisba al-Aqsasi is read with an initial short “a” (fatha) and a silent qaf; an extra alif appears between the two un-dotted s letters. It refers to the village of al-Aqsas, a large settlement in the Kufan district.
(5) The chain of transmission is extremely weak: Suwar b. Musab is a discarded narrator. The report occurs in Sunan al-Daraqutni 1/128 through Suwar b. Musab with this same isnad. Al-Daraqutni states: “Suwar is weak. He was contradicted by Yahya b. al-Ala, who narrated it from Mutarrif, from Muharib b. Dithar, from Jabir…,” and he cites the wording: “Any animal whose flesh is eaten—its urine is unobjectionable.” Neither Amr b. al-Husayn nor Yahya b. al-Ala is reliable, and Suwar b. Musab is also rejected; see Sunan al-Bayhaqi 1/252.
