In that same year there also died: Aḥmad ibn al-Faḍl al-Bāṭirqānī, the Shaykh of Isfahan (1); the mufti of Córdoba, Abū ʿUmar Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿĪsā ibn al-Qaṭṭān al-Qurṭubī (2); the long-lived erudite scholar Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī ibn Makkī al-Nasafī—first a Ḥanafī, later a Shāfiʿī—(3); the preacher Khadīja bint Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī al-Shāhjāniyya (4), who reported hadith from Ibn Samʿūn; the centenarian ʿAbd al-Dāʾim ibn al-Ḥasan al-Hilālī, originally from Ḥawrān and later of Damascus, a close companion of ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Kilābī (5); the shaykh of the Rāfiḍites, Abū Jaʿfar Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan al-Ṭūsī, the Qurʾanic exegete (6); and the hadith authority of Herat, Abū Muḍmir Muhallim ibn Ismāʿīl al-Ḍabbī.

He was the leading figure of the Shiʿah and a prolific author: Abū Jaʿfar Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī al-Ṭūsī.
He came to Baghdad and at first studied jurisprudence according to the Shāfiʿī school.
