33 – The Grandson of Baḥruwayh, Ibrāhīm ibn Manṣūr ibn Ibrāhīm al-Sulamī *
The shaykh, pious, trustworthy, and long-lived: Abū al-Qāsim Ibrāhīm ibn Manṣūr ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad al-Sulamī, al-Karrānī (1), from Isfahan, better known as “the Grandson of Baḥruwayh.”
Karrān is a district of Isfahan.
He was born in 362 AH.
He heard the Musnad of Abū Yaʿlā al-Mawṣilī from Abū Bakr ibn al-Muqriʾ, as well as the Book of Tafsīr by ʿAbd al-Razzāq.
Those who transmitted from him include Yaḥyā ibn Manda, who said: “He—may Allah have mercy on him—was righteous and chaste, though hard of hearing. He died in Rabīʿ al-Awwal, 455 AH.” (2)
I say: Others who also narrated from him were Saʿīd ibn Abī al-Rajāʾ, al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbd al-Malik al-Khallāl, Fāṭima al-ʿAlawiyya Umm al-Mujtabā, and many others.
