457 – al-ʿAdil, Abu ʿAbd Allah ʿAbd al-Rahim ibn Husayn
The great vizier, known by the honorific al-ʿAdil, Abu ʿAbd Allah ʿAbd al-Rahim (1) ibn Husayn.
He served as vizier to the ruler al-Rahim Abu Nasr ibn Abi Kalayjar. He was generous, open-handed, and imposing, yet high-handed and a spiller of blood.
Abu Nasr turned against him and destroyed him: he summoned him to his residence after having dug a pit, covered it with a mat; ʿAbd al-Rahim fell in, and they filled it in over him. This occurred in Ramadan, 447 AH.
