The Imām, the reliable teacher, the ḥāfiẓ, the ḥadith scholar of Bukhara and author of its History (1): Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Sulaymān ibn Kāmil al-Bukhārī.
His sobriquet, Ghunjar, was given to him after the renowned Ghunjar the Elder, ʿĪsā ibn Mūsā al-Bukhārī (2).
Abū ʿAbd Allāh related ḥadith from Khalaf ibn Muḥammad al-Khayyām, Sahl ibn ʿUthmān al-Sulamī, Abū ʿUbayd Aḥmad ibn ʿUrwah al-Karmīnī, Muḥammad ibn Ḥafṣ ibn Aslam, Ibrāhīm ibn Hārūn al-Malāḥimī, al-Ḥasan ibn Yūsuf ibn Yaʿqūb, and many others from that region; he never undertook a study journey.
Those who transmitted from him include Hannād ibn Ibrāhīm al-Nasafī and a group of scholars.

He died in the year 412 AH at an advanced age.
