spent the night in the mosque until morning, and he remained there the following day as well. Late in the afternoon two riders arrived; I went off with them, clothed them, and gave them food. After he had led the night prayer, he summoned me and asked, “What became of the matter that was still outstanding?” I replied, “Allah has relieved you of it.” He exclaimed, “Allāhu akbar,” praised Allah, and thanked Him—fearful that death might overtake him while any debt remained upon him. Abū al-Walīd al-Ṭayālisī said: Abū Hāshim al-Zaʿfarānī narrated to us, saying: Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd-Allāh narrated to us that Anas ibn Mālik related that Fāṭimah (may Allah be pleased with her) once brought a piece of bread to the Prophet ﷺ.
