Abū Saʿd informed us; the physician related to us that Nasr ibn Muḥammad al-ʿAṭṭār informed us; he said: Aḥmad ibn al-Ḥusayn in Egypt narrated to us; he said: Yūsuf ibn Yazīd al-Qarāṭisī narrated to us; he said: al-Walīd ibn Mūsā narrated to us; he said: Munabbih ibn ʿUthmān, from ʿUrwah ibn Ruwaym, from al-Ḥasan, from Anas ibn Mālik:
traced back to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, “The believing jinn have reward, and they are subject to punishment.”
We asked him about their reward and about their believers. He replied, “They will be on the Heights (al-Aʿrāf); they are not in Paradise.”
We said, “And what are the Heights?”
He said, “The rampart of Paradise, through which rivers flow and in which trees and fruits grow.”
This ḥadīth is exceedingly munkar (1).
