This ḥadith is ḥasan, with a robust chain of transmission. Abū ʿĪsā included it in his Jāmiʿ (1) on the authority of Qutaybah.
Al-Ḥākim said, “I heard al-Mukhladī say, ‘I served as a witness in the year 321 AH; I was declared upright, and al-Ḥākim entered my testimony into the record.’”
In that same year there died: Zāhir ibn Aḥmad al-Sarakhsī, the Qurʾān reciter ʿAbd al-Munʿim ibn Ghalbūn, Abū al-Qāsim ibn Ḥabābah, Abū al-Haytham al-Kushmihānī, and the Egyptian judge Muḥammad ibn al-Nuʿmān ibn Muḥammad al-Bāṭinī.
