8 – ʿAbd Allah ibn Khayran narrated to us; he said: al-Masʿudi narrated to us, from Muhajir Abu al-Hasan, from ʿAtaʾ ibn Yasar, who said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never fasted in any month more than he fasted in Shaʿban, for during that month the terms of those who are to die are written down for the forthcoming year.”
