7 – ʿAli ibn al-Jaʿd narrated to us; he said: Abu Mughira narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Suqa, from Ikrima, regarding the Almighty’s words, “On it every wise matter is made distinct” (Q 44:4). He said: “It is the night that falls in the middle of Shaʿban: during it the affairs of the whole year are arranged, the names of those who will die are taken out from among the living, and the pilgrims are written down—none of them will be subtracted, and no one will be added.”
