60 – Saʿid ibn Sulayman narrated to us; he said: Hafs ibn Ghiyath related to us, from Ashʿath, from Abu Hubayrah, from his grandfather Shayban, who said: “I entered the mosque, sought permission to enter, and cleared my throat. There I found the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—taking the pre-dawn meal. He said, ‘Come, Abu Yahya, share the meal.’ I replied, ‘I intend to fast.’ He said, ‘And I intend to fast as well, but our caller to prayer has a weakness in his sight, so he pronounced the adhan before the dawn had actually broken.’”
