Fada'il RamadanIbn Abi al-Dunya

48 – Shujaʿ ibn Makhlad narrated to us; he said: Hushaym narrated to us; he said: Yūnus ibn ʿUbayd informed us, from al-Ḥasan:

“ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb gathered the people behind Ubayy ibn Kaʿb, and he would lead them for twenty nights of the month. He did not recite the qunūt (supplication) with them except during the second half of Ramadan; when the last ten nights arrived he would stay back and pray in his own house, and the people would say, ‘Ubayy has slipped away!’”
