30 – Muhammad ibn al-Harith al-Kharraz narrated to me; he said: Sinan ibn Hatim narrated to us; Jaʿfar ibn Sulayman narrated to us; Hubab al-Quṭaʿi narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq al-Hamdani, who said: “Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) went out on the first night of Ramadan while the lanterns were shining and the Book of Allah was being recited in the mosques. He said, ‘May Allah illumine your grave, O ʿUmar ibn al-Khattab, just as you illumined the mosques of Allah with the Quran.’”
