21 – ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Wāqid related to us; he said: Ḍamrah ibn Rabīʿah narrated to us, from Naṣr ibn Isḥāq, from Jābir, from Abū Jaʿfar, who said:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever lives through the month of Ramadan in sound health as a Muslim—fasting its days, praying a set portion of its nights, lowering his gaze, safeguarding his private parts, tongue, and hand, keeping up his prayers in congregation, and arriving early for the Friday service—has truly fasted the month, perfected the reward, reached Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree), and won the prize granted by the Lord.”
Abū Jaʿfar added: “A prize unlike those handed out by earthly rulers.”
