15 – ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Salih related to us; Muʿtamir ibn Sulayman al-Taymi narrated to us; from Ayyub; from Abu Qilabah; from Abu Hurayrah, who reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while giving his Companions glad tidings, said:

“Ramadan has come to you—a blessed month in which Allah has made fasting obligatory for you. In it the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained. Within it there is a night better than a thousand months; whoever is denied its goodness has indeed been deprived.”
