In the two Sahīh collections, with the wording given here being Muslim’s, ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“Allah, Blessed and Most High, will grasp the earth on the Day of Resurrection and fold up the heaven in His right hand. Then He will say: ‘I am the King! Where are the kings of the earth?’”
In the two Sahīh collections, with the wording given here being Muslim’s, ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“Allah will fold up the heavens on the Day of Resurrection, then take them in His right hand. Then He will say: ‘I am the King! Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant?’ Then He will fold up the earths in His left hand and say: ‘I am the King! Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant?’”
Another wording in the Sahīh is reported from ʿAbdullāh ibn Miqsam, who watched ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar as he related how the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“Allah will take His heavens and His earth in His hand and say: ‘I am the King’—and he closes his fingers and opens them—‘I am the King.’”
I saw the pulpit shaking from its very base, until I was saying: “Will it collapse with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, upon it?!”
In another wording, he said:
“I saw the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, upon the pulpit, saying: ‘The Compeller will take His heavens and His earth.’ He clenched his hand and began closing and opening it, saying: ‘I am the Most Merciful! I am the King! I am the Most Holy! I am the Source of Peace! I am the Granter of Security! I am the Guardian! I am the Almighty! I am the Compeller! I am the Supremely Great! I am the One who brought the world into being when it was nothing! I am the One who brought it back! Where are the arrogant? Where are the tyrants?’”
In another wording: “Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant?”
And the Messenger of Allah was leaning—may Allah bless him
