the reason is that he has denied Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, and described Allah in terms that entail deficiency. Allah, Exalted is He, says:
“Allah has never taken a child, nor has there ever been with Him any deity.” [al-Mu’minun: 91]
Yet this person claims that Allah has a child. Has anyone among people ever claimed that Allah has a child? Yes. The Jews said, “Ezra is the son of Allah,” and the Christians said, “The Messiah is the son of Allah.” Thus, the Jews and Christians are alike in what they believe about their Lord. The polytheists said, “The angels are the daughters of Allah.” Allah, Exalted is He, says:
“Has He chosen daughters over sons?”
And He says:
“And they have established between Him and the jinn a kinship.” [al-Saffat: 158]
Therefore, we must hate the Christians just as we hate the Jews, for all of them are enemies of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He. Allah, Exalted is He, said concerning them all:
“O you who believe, do not take the Jews and Christians as allies. They are allies of one another. Whoever among you takes them as allies is surely one of them. Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.” [al-Ma’idah: 51]
Whoever says, “The Christian or the Jew is my brother,” is like them and becomes an apostate from Islam, because they are not our brothers. Brotherhood is only between the believers themselves: “The believers are but brothers.” [al-Hujurat: 10]
As for them, they are not our brothers. If someone says, “They are our brothers in humanity,” we reply: But they have rejected the very principle of humanity. Had they possessed humanity, the first One they would have revered would have been their Creator, Glorified and Exalted is He, and their Lord, who sent messengers to them and revealed Scriptures to them. Even their own messengers gave glad tidings of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. Allah, Exalted is He, says:
“Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find written in the Torah and the Gospel with them, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong.” [al-A‘raf: 157]
