Al-Sharḥ al-MumtiʿIbn al-'Uthaymin

His statement, “a dhimmī woman”: it would have been preferable, in two respects, had the author—may Allah have mercy on him—said, “a woman from the People of the Book.”

First, a woman from the People of the Book may be married even if she is not a dhimmī.

Second, a woman who is not from the People of the Book may not be married, even if she is a dhimmī.
