Al-Sharḥ al-MumtiʿIbn al-'Uthaymin

Likewise, according to the madhhab, if the area beneath the bandage heals, he must repeat his ablution from the beginning if the bandage is on one of the limbs of ablution.

If it is on one of the limbs washed in ghusl—for example, if he performed ghusl following major ritual impurity and wiped over it—he must wash the area beneath it, but he is not required to repeat the entire ghusl, because continuity is not a condition for ghusl according to the madhhab.

Likewise, if the bandage comes undone, he must repeat his ablution from the beginning if it is on one of the limbs of ablution.

The correct view, as mentioned previously, is that purification is not invalidated by the healing of what lies beneath it or by the bandage coming undone. He may resecure it immediately or whenever he wishes, because—according to the stronger view—purification is not a condition for applying a bandage, as stated earlier (1) ..
