This is because there are many discouraging factors; but if you turn away, that is the true calamity.
Sins are among the greatest obstacles. Allah Most High says:
“But if they turn away, then know that Allah only intends to afflict them for some of their sins.” [al-Ma'idah 5:49]
This indicates that a person’s turning away from the remembrance of Allah is caused by sins. Yet, through seeking forgiveness and sincerity of intention, Allah makes the matter easy.
Some scholars inferred from Allah’s statement:
“Indeed, We have sent down to you the Book in truth so that you may judge between people by what Allah has shown you. And do not be an advocate for the treacherous. And seek Allah’s forgiveness; indeed, Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [al-Nisa]
that when a matter arises before a person—whether in issuing a legal opinion or delivering a judicial judgment—he should frequently seek Allah’s forgiveness (1). For Allah says, “so that you may judge,” and then says, “And seek Allah’s forgiveness.” This is not far-fetched, for sins prevent one from seeing the truth. Allah Most High says:
“No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts because of what they used to earn.” [al-Mutaffifin]

His statement, “Despite its small size, it contains what renders further elaboration unnecessary”: “contains” means “gathers.” It is more comprehensive than Shaykh Mar'i’s—may Allah have mercy on him—Dalil al-Talib. However, Dalil al-Talib is better arranged than this work, because it sets out the conditions, pillars, obligations, and recommended acts in detail.
His statement, “There is no might nor power except through Allah”: la is the particle that negates an entire class; and might means movement and the changing of a thing from its state.
