7. Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn narrated to us; Khālid ibn Khaddāsh narrated; Salām ibn Abī Muṭīʿ reported:

“We were with Muḥammad ibn Wāsiʿ at a funeral. The pall-bearers quickened their pace ⦗49⦘ until we reached the cemetery, but some of the people had not yet caught up, so they paused with the bier until everyone arrived. We then performed the funeral prayer, took the body to the grave, and laid it down. I went over to Muḥammad ibn Wāsiʿ and heard him say to the man beside him, ‘Every day one of us is carried off to the graveyards, one after another, and it is as though the matter were already concluded: the last of us is on the verge of joining the first.’”} সম
