6- Muḥammad narrated to me; ʿAmmār ibn ʿUthmān narrated to us; Ḥuṣayn ibn al-Qāsim al-Wazzān narrated, saying: “I heard ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Zayd relate: ‘A pious man once told me: I saw in a dream as though the graves had split open and their occupants leapt out. Some looked pale and gaunt, others fresh and radiant; some appeared like the sick. One had his mount led up to him so he could ride, another was already astride a horse, while others walked on their own two feet. I asked, “Why do these men walk while those ride?” A voice replied, “Each of them is borne according to his deeds.” I said, “Are these not the dead?” He answered, “Indeed, but they are receiving glad tidings.”’
