- Muḥammad narrated to us; … ibn Muraqq related; Bishr ibn Manṣūr transmitted from a man descended from al-Ḥasan, who said: “We attended a funeral with al-Ḥasan. He noticed a man speaking to his companion and smiling at him, whereupon he exclaimed, ‘Glory be to Allah! Is there nothing in what lies before you to occupy you and keep you from smiling?’” Al-Ḥasan would say, “People used to hold death in such reverence that they would not raise their voices in its presence.”
٦٦- حدثنا محمد ثنا.. . بن مورق ثنا بشر بن منصور عن رجل من ولد الحسن قال شهدنا مع الحسن جنازة فرأى رجلا يحدث صاحبه ويتبسم إليه فقال يا سبحان الله أما كان في الذي بين يدك مشتغل عن التبسم قال الحسن كانوا يعظمون الموت أن يرفع عنده الصوت.
